As it turns out, Mortal Kombat is a huge success. Who knew? The franchise that was in the back of the fighting game bus during the 3D era is now back on top, selling three million units worldwide. This not only makes the new Mortal Kombat the best-selling game in the Mortal Kombat franchise, it also makes it the best-selling fighting game of 2011. The big question is whether or not it can hold onto that title when games such as Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 hit the shelves.
