New Pokemon, Volcanion, Officially Revealed

New Pokemon, Volcanion, Officially Revealed

Maybe it’s just that Nintendo has spoiled us, but it feels like it’s been way too long since they’ve given us a new Pokemon . That ends today, as a new creature has been officially revealed, bringing the grand total up to 721.

The Pokemon is named Volcanion and will be both a water and fire type monster; a series first. According to Nintendo, the creature uses its command over fire to to convert water into steam for its attacks. At this point, Pokemon masters will have already deduced that Volcanion will be strong against ground, bug, steel and ice type Pokemon while weak to ground, rock and electric types. Its ability, water absorb, will allow it to negate water type attacks and heal up to 25% of its own HP.

There is no word yet on how players will be able to encounter this Pokemon, only that it won’t be attainable through conventional means. I’m assuming a downloadable item will unlock an in-game event, as the series has sometimes done in the past, but at this point, it is anybody’s guess.
