New PS3 System Update Paves The Way For Vita

New PS3 System Update Paves The Way For Vita

None

If you were trying to sign on to the PlayStation Network yesterday, you probably got a message saying that a new system update was required. This new update came with a shiny 4.0 label on it, so what new technology could prompt Sony to tick up its revision number?

The 4.0 update readies the system for communication with the PS Vita. It will allow users to copy their content such as games, music, photos, videos, and more between Vitas and PS3s. It will also allow you to back up your Vita save data to your PS3 hard drive, and lays the groundwork for Vita/PS3 save sharing for games like the upcoming Metal Gear Solid HD collection.

Other than that, there have been some tweaks to friend filtering settings and an option for PS Plus members “to enable or disable each automatic update feature.”
