New Story of Seasons Coming Next Year to 3DS

New Story of Seasons Coming Next Year to 3DS

I’m a bit of a farming sim noob, and I can hardly tell a Farmville from a Stardew Valley. I love quirky sims, though, and I want to get in on this space. Ignorantly, naively, I assumed that Harvest Moon was still the golden standard to which all other farm sims are held, but I was mistaken. This is old news to vets, but I very recently learned while localizer Natsume still owns the Harvest Moon trademark in North America, the actual series that we used to know as “Harvest Moon” is now called Story of Seasons , and is being localized by XSEED Games. Natsume is now producing games with the Harvest Moon name but they’ve received mixed reactions so far. If you want the good stuff, Story of Seasons is the way to go.

So it’s Story of Seasons that we should look forward to, and it’s Story of Seasons on the way! XSEED has sent out a press release celebrating 20 years of “the longest-running farming and life simulation series.” Part of that 20th anniversary celebration is the announcement of Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns . In this new game, the player is settled in the middle of three towns, each of them unique in their landscapes, inhabitants, regional crops, animals, and more. XSEED promises the biggest adventure in the series to date, as well as some great online features. “More ways to play srpout up as players connect to one another locally or via the internet to chat, trade, and enhance items on a mysterious multiplayer island.”

We don’t have an official release date or any gameplay footage yet, but that may change soon. Trio of Town s will be making an appearance at E3 as one of XSEED’s showings, so we should have more details and hopefully a trailer to share very soon.
