New Zelda Title Planned For 3DS

New Zelda Title Planned For 3DS

None

Many people are saying that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be the last and greatest game for the Wii, and that there is no better way to usher out the age of a best-selling Nintendo console than with a Zelda title. However, just because the Wii is calling it quits doesn’t mean that Zelda is. After Skyward Sword, the Zelda series will be making its way onto the 3DS.

Nintendo Everything recently translated an interview series producer Eiji Aonuma did with Portuguese gaming site MyGames. This is what Aonuma had to say: “We are already preparing a new game, a game in the series for the Nintendo 3DS, but don’t think that it is a direct sequel to the Zelda titles released on DS. We are talking about a new game, but it takes much of what has been done on previous handhelds.”

Aonuma also spoke about the possibility of seeing a Majora’s Mask 3DS remake, much like the Ocarina of Time remake that we saw earlier this year. In his words: “It’s something I’m asked about often and I assure you that it is something I’ve spoken to Miyamoto about. But recently we released The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D as a remake. We are considering the idea, but it didn’t seem right to launch a remake one after another, so the next Zelda game on 3DS will be original.”

So there you have it, a new upcoming original Zelda game, and a possible Majora’s Mask remake in the future. I hope that pleases all of you Zelda fans out there!
