NewsToYou is a fascinating way to keep up with current events in an online game that brings news items to life in an entertaining and informative fashion. NewsToYou is a persistent online RPG. You interact with characters in the news, learning about their situations, with updates in real-time. You can attend the virtual trial of a murderer as it’s happening in real life, or you can watch a sting of a corrupt politician go down.
You might even be able to finally figure out where Canada is on a map, even if you are a Canadian.
NewsToYou will break down the hard-to-understand jargon of conservative newspapers and give it to you in your own vernacular. Instead of, “Congress passed a bill which will allow each state to legislate and implement a curfew law for those under the age of consent.” That will be translated to, “A gang of old dudes have decided to force you to into your house at night to play video games.”
A worldwide team of NewsToYou journalists will cover stories and instantly convert and upload them to the NewsToYou server. Here, voice acting, animation, and hip hop beats are added by an army of developers. You’ll be able to experience these news events just moments after they happen. But these events are going to “happen” just the way you would want them to happen.
As you wander through the virtual world of NewsToYou, you’ll have a variety of characters approach you with catchy headlines, not unlike barkers at a carnival or merchants at a bazaar. Choose the story that most appeals to you, and learn more about it by interacting with the character. All stories are limited to a one-minute overview. If you want more depth, the character will take you to the virtual scene of the incident, and after a brief “word from our sponsor”, you’ll be able to live and re-live the news exactly as it happened for as long as your attention spans allows.
