Oculus Touch to Be $200, Pre-Orders Go Live on Monday

A video feature on Oculus Touch is what sold me on VR a long time ago. Oculus Touch is a pair of controllers that combine touch, haptic, and motion-tracking technology to give players a greater sense of presence and interactivity while in virtual worlds. It’s unfortunate that the Rift didn’t actually ship with the Touch, because the HTC Vive came with its own highly capable controllers that have, so far, given it a distinct edge over Oculus VR.

During the opening keynote of Connect, the Oculus developer conference, it was revealed that the Oculus Touch controllers will launch on December 6. They’re priced at a not-so-aggressive $200, and pre-orders will go live this Monday across various sites and retailers. Despite the hefty price tag, I expect these will sell out very shortly. If you pre-ordered the Oculus Rift, you’ll have first dibs on the Touch controllers – just be alert and have your pre-order in by Monday.
