Operation Raccoon City’s Familiar Faces

Operation Raccoon City’s Familiar Faces

None

The story of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City focuses on an entirely new team of characters, as of yet unseen in the series’ mythology. That doesn’t mean that the game will be devoid of series standbys, though, and Capcom has a plan to let you play as them in what may be Resident Evil’s first serious attempt at a non-co-op multiplayer mode.

That’s right: multiplayer. Competitive multiplayer, with four-on-four combat; eight players in total, battling one another on the streets of Raccoon City, using their characters’ unique abilities to shift the tide in their favor. And just whose unique abilities are we speaking of?

The key names are Leon Kennedy, Clair Redfield (playable for the first time since Code Veronica), Jill Valentine, and Ada Wong. Furthermore, Hunk, Carlos Oliveira, Nicholai Ginovaef, and Lone Wolf will be entering the fray. The trailer touts the importance of keeping these heroes alive, utilizing their unique abilities.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will be out for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this coming March, a special edition also available for purchase.
