SEGA’s upcoming Phantasy Star Online 2 re-release is being updated for the current generation in more than one way. Not only will it be receiving a host of content and security updates , its pricing plans will be updated for our current generation of free to play MMOs as well. The game will be free to download and play on the PC, PS Vita, and even mobile platforms such as iOS and Android. Game revenue will come primarily from real-money item transactions. While this might annoy some hardcore purists who believe you shouldn’t be able to pay for power, it certainly does open the game up to a larger fan base.
