PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Confirmed By Sony

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Confirmed By Sony

None

In a recent post on the U.S. PlayStation Blog, Sony has finally confirmed the existence of their party-style fighting game, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

The game is a 3D Smash Bros.-style brawler that brings together all the big names of the PlayStation universe, from Kratos and Sweet-Tooth to Parappa the Rapper and Fat Princess. The development team is filled with people who have experience in creating fighting games. Their goal is to create a game that is “accessible yet deep,” something that is easy to pick up and play but that isn’t grossly imbalanced for the tournament-minded gamer.

Speaking of the tournament-minded gamer, the game will have an online mode, which the development team is spending a lot of time on, complete with tournament play. The team is working to make online play feel as much like offline play as possible.

The game’s flavor will stress the crossover theme. Not only will many different characters be included in the game, but stages themselves will feature mash-ups between different worlds. For example, one stage combined God of War’s underworld with Patapon. Another combines LittleBigPlanet with Buzz! The development team also hinted at some third-party characters possibly being thrown into the mix.

As of now, there is a limited amount of information available about the game, but the team has said that they will have much more info at E3.
