PlayStation Now Could Come to PC Soon

There’s a rumor mill in France where the cogs are turning and the wheels are spinning overtime. Very recently French outlet Gameblog broke the scoop on Sony’s upcoming PlayStation Meeting where we expect to see the Neo revealed, and now a site called Gamekult is in the headlines with another exciting rumor. We’re still talking about PlayStation, but this time the subject is the oft-neglected game streaming service PlayStation Now.

According to Gamekult, the PlayStation Now service will soon be coming to PC. For those of you who don’t know, PlayStation Now is a subscription service that allows you to stream an expansive library of PS3 games straight to your PS4 and Vita. As long as you have Windows 7 or above and an internet connection speed of 5MB/s or faster (and a decent ping), you should be able to stream some of the best PS3 games straight to your PC or laptop soon.

How soon? The article states that PlayStation Now will be coming to PCs in Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK on August 23. The service will be rolling out to the US and Canada a week later. If this turns out to be true, then you should give it a go. Users with good pings have reported negligible input lag, to the point where they felt confident playing reflex-dependent first-person shooters. Even if you do experience a bit of input lag, there are a lot of fantastic RPGs available, which would be perfect for streaming. We’ll keep our ears to the ground and update you when we hear more.
