PS3 Getting Brighter in Japan

PS3 Getting Brighter in Japan

None

It was announced today that Japan will be getting a few new PS3 models very soon. According to Andriasang, Sony unveiled three new versions of the PS3 that will be hitting the Japanese market July 29th. First off, there will be a new 160GB model that will be replacing the standard 120GB models that are currently available. This console will set back purchasers 29,980 yen (about $342).

The second new model announced will include a massive 320GB hard drive and only cost a few dollars more at 34,980 yen (about $400). Perhaps the most interesting model is another featuring a 160GB hard drive, but instead of being the standard charcoal black color of the current slim, it will be bright white and come in at the same price as the black 160GB version. Whether these new versions of the PS3 will make it stateside is anyone’s guess, I’d assume we’ll at least wind up getting the upgraded storage space even if we don’t end up seeing the white PS3.
