Real-Life Zelda Puzzle Room Opens in U.S. Next Year

Escape rooms are quickly becoming popular destinations for would-be problem-solvers across the country. These real-life events put a team of players in a closed environment and require them to escape by solving riddles that make use of hidden clues and objects throughout the space. You can find them all over the United States – I’ve even been to one in sleepy ol’ Tucson – but the latest should prove especially appealing to gamers, as it’s based on The Legend of Zelda .

The event is called Defenders of the Triforce , and instead of being a typical escape room, it’s a “puzzle experience” where players solve a mystery with the aid of classic Zelda characters and items. It’s almost like a Zelda temple brought to life – funny how well the concept translates to our world, now that I think about it. The event, hosted by escape room company SCRAP, is coming to cities across the U.S. early next year.

Defenders of the Triforce will be held in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, and New York. Tickets start at For dates and times, check out the event’s official website . Ticket prices vary depending on the venue, but start around $30 with an early bird discount. I’ll see you folks in Phoenix!
