RUMOR: A New Counter-Strike?

RUMOR: A New Counter-Strike?

None

You have to love the rumor mill; give them a tiny piece of info and they will go wild. According to a variety of testers and e Sports commentators, Valve is releasing a new Counter-Strike game. The rumors say that people have actually had a chance to get hands-on time with the new project. All the testers and commentators are in some way involved in the competitive Counter-Strike scene, and apparently they were invited down to Valve HQ to get their ideas on the project.

The full name of the project is apparently Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and it is rumored to be coming out in the first quarter of 2012. The game is rumored to include new guns, new grenades, new maps, and “free ammo,” whatever that means. The game will be running on a new version of Valve’s Source engine.

Valve is set to comment on these rumors within twenty four hours. Hopefully we will figure out everything by then.

Edit: Valve has officially confirmed that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is real, and they even have a listing for it on Steam already. Huzzah!
