Gather ’round, boys and girls: It’s time for the NX Rumor Hour. There’s been a surge in NX hype recently due to a number of posts and rumblings. A Nintendo of Europe rep confirmed that Nintendo would give us information about the NX this year, and reports from a “verified” source on Reddit suggested that we’d see the NX priced at $300, or $400 for a bundle of some kind. Today, another post is being circulated that may (or may not) reveal the official name of Nintendo’s upcoming console.
Meet the Nintendo Duo! How does that sound? Sounds okay, right? Better than the “Wii,” anyway. Twitter user “MakuXV” spotted an image on Japanese forums, apparently from some software partner briefing documentation, that labels Nintendo’s new hardware the “Nintendo Duo,” or “nintendo duo,” to be case-specific. The word “duo” could refer to the console’s rumored hybrid nature, or it could be completely made up. Hopefully we’ll find out soon, because the damn thing launches worldwide in less than six months. Seriously, Nintendo, put us out of our misery.
