Seamless Entertainment Brings Back The Space Sim

Seamless Entertainment Brings Back The Space Sim

None

If you were to name some of the best old space shooters, you’d probably mention Wing Commander, Descent, and maybe even the X-Wing/TIE Fights games in the Star Wars line. But if you were asked to name some modern day space shooters that you liked, you’d probably have a tough time doing so. Unfortunately, the genre is just about dead. But Seamless Entertainment is not going to let it go down without a fight.

They have recently announced their work on a new space combat game called SOL: Exodus. The game will see humanity fleeing from a sun that is about to go supernova, fighting against religious zealots who want to wipe out the human race, and looking for a new place to settle. Players will dogfight against everything from tiny fighters to large carriers to massive warships the size of a small moon. It sounds like equal parts Battlestar Galactica and Top Gun.

The team, which features designers that worked on Saint’s row, Civilization III, and Tachyon: The Fringe, promises that the game will do classic titles like Wing Commander justice. They claim they will release more details about the game later this year.
