The end of last week saw BioWare release the first teaser trailer for Mass Effect 2. In the trailer, a communiqué seemed to indicate that Commander Shepard was KIA; this lead to Internet hysteria amongst Mass Effect players on the official message boards who wished to continue the adventure with their favorite hero. Fortunately, community managers have stated that Shepard will in fact play a role and that players should definitely hold on to their game saves from Mass Effect. That said, IGN reports, after an interview with BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk, that incorporating Shepard into the next game is “the goal,” but Zeschuk “also mentioned that ‘there are many goals,’” set for the title. To what extent he will play a part is still somewhat up in the air. Check out the trailer below if you haven’t done so already. |
