We all learned back in 2006 that Nintendo is no stranger to product shortages, but it seems the recent release of Super Mario All-Stars: 25th Anniversary Edition is bringing back all-too recent memories of the Wii shortage. Online retailers like Amazon.com and GameStop are no longer offering the product online, and several retailers are reporting that they have sold out of the title early.  Though the game is marketed as a “Limited Edition” product, it seems suspicious that it could have sold out only two days after its initial release. And the secondary market is reacting with bids for the game on auction site eBay starting at 25% above the game’s MSRP, on average. |
