Should More Celebs Follow Schwarzenegger As Gaming Guests?

Should More Celebs Follow Schwarzenegger As Gaming Guests?

Gamers will now have the opportunity to lay the smack down with two of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s greatest action heroes in the upcoming release of WWE 2K16 . Schwarzenegger will be made available as two separate T-800s from his famous role within the Terminator saga – one from the original 1984 Terminator film and another from the 1991 sequel, Terminator 2: Judgment Day . Players will have the opportunity to relive Schwarzenegger’s glory days at no additional cost through a pre-order incentive offered by several major retailers. This awesome addition to WWE ’s newest installment couldn’t help but make me wonder what other public figures video game developers should be adding to their titles.

The first famous personality that I would love see hit the digital main stage would have to be Chuck Norris in his role as Walker, Texas Ranger. Chuck would be a perfect fit for an upcoming DLC for Mortal Kombat X – throw him in the next Kombat Pack and the universe might just explode. Think about his abilities for a second – not only does he have two speeds in “sprint” and “kill,” but that round-house kick is absolutely devastating. Look what he did to Bruce Lee in “The Way of the Dragon.” Chuck could be don either his traditional Wrangler straight-legged jeans, black of course, or his classic Taekwondo getup, complete with 10th degree black belt so opponents know he means serious business. I haven’t quite figured out his finishing move, but it will most certainly have to include the words “round” and “house.”

The perfect compliment to Chuck Norris would have to be the greatest military persona of all time: John J. Rambo. This guy was, and still is, the complete definition of a total badass. Not only did he take down the entire Washington Town police force in First Blood , but he absolutely destroyed the Soviets in Rambo 3 . I think most of you know where I’m going with this one, but in case you’ve been under a rock for the past decade, Rambo would be a nice complement to cast of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 . Imagine jumping into a mission with Rambo at your side – no need to even map out your plan of action for defeating the enemy, that crazy one-man killing machine has got you covered. Out of ammo? No problem! Rambo will clear out the countless number of enemies blocking your path.

The third and final public figure that I would love to see make the leap to the gaming platform has got to be President Obama in NBA 2K16 . I can’t say that I’m a big fan of his political policy or really much anything that he’s done since being in office, but this dude has some serious old-man hoop game. Picture Obama being an unlockable character, or even a free DLC option, and having the freedom to place him on any team from any era. Pair him up with late 90’s Jordan and watch him rain slow and methodical hook shots from just beyond the elbow. You could match Obama one-on-one with Chicago Bulls reserve guard, Aaron Brooks, and watch the two short guys duke it out in a heated rivalry. Seeing Obama on the tail end of the Cleveland Cavilers bench is definitely a world I want to live in. Heck, he and LeBron could be running the pick and roll like it’s going out of style – can you say, “pick and pop” POTUS style?

I am really hoping that Schwarzenegger’s soon-to-be gaming debut is a sign of things to come. Just imagine the endless amount of possibility when it comes to adding public figures to the gaming platform – my mind is going nuts just thinking about them. I believe I am speaking for all of my fellow gamers when I say give the people what they want, or at least gives us a little more meme time with chin-music master, Chuck Norris.
