Something’s Brewing for Mortal Kombat X Beer Drinkers

Something’s Brewing for Mortal Kombat X Beer Drinkers

Know what can knock your favorite characters out in Mortal Kombat? A Fatality. Fortunately, you don’t have to worry about those flooring you in real life. No, the Mortal Kombat X -inspired beers are the only things from the series that have a chance of doing that. Warner Bros. is allowing Sound Brewery and the Global Beverage Traders to make and distribute beers based on Raiden, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero.

Since I don’t drink beer and know nothing about it, I’ll go ahead and rely on the official descriptions for all three drinks. Raiden Imperial Saison is a Belgian-style ale and the Sub-Zero Imperial IPA is an Imperial India pale ale, if that helps clarify things. Each will be available in 22 ounce bottles for a limited time.

  • Raiden Imperial Saison (8% alcohol): Refreshingly cooling on a warm day, an Imperial India Pale Ale that’s not all about the hops or the malt but is a whole lot of both fighting it out for your palate’s supremacy. Drink icy for more of the hops or warmer for more malt.
  • Scorpion Imperial Stout (8% alcohol): This amped up Imperial Saison has a blast of hops and CO2 that will hit your tongue with a bang. The aroma jumps out of the glass with its earthly and herbal notes not far behind.
  • Sub-Zero Imperial IPA (8.5% alcohol): A unique blend for great Imperial Stout brings both fire and ice into your glass. The fiery southwest chilies and cooling Madagascar Vanilla Bean pair nicely with the exotic notes produced by our own yeast strain.

This isn’t a bad idea. There were Call of Duty and Fallout beers, after all. I never really thought Mortal Kombat X would be a big enough series to merit its own draught, but I suppose it makes sense. It’ll definitely make fans happy!
