Sonic 4 Episode 1 came out back in 2010. In fact, so much time had passed that many fans have started to doubt whether or not Sonic 4 Episode 2 would ever come out. Well, Sega has decided to put our worries to rest. Episode 2 will certainly come out, just way later than any of us thought. Sonic Team’s Takashi Iikuza said, “Moving forward to 2012, Sonic will still be going, so I’d hope to provide Episode 2 then.” The reason why Episode 2 isn’t yet ready is because Sonic Team is hard at work on Sonic Generations. To put it bluntly, this medley of Sonic’s greatest moments is looking to be the first 3D Sonic game to not suck in a very long time. Apparently, they had always planned on taking an extended hiatus from the Sonic 4 project in order to make sure Sonic Generations was of a quality befitting Sonic’s 20th anniversary.
