In news that is sure to delight Nintendo enthusiasts everywhere, Nintendo has confirmed that Sega mascot Sonic the Hedgehog will be playable in the highly anticipated Super Smash Bros Brawl. Sonic’s appearance in the Super Smash Bros series has been a long running request and seemed more likely with the announcement of the Mario and Sonic Go to the Olympics games, but some gamers were still doubtful of the hedgehog’s likelihood of appearing, especially considering that the game’s December release date was approaching.
On the heels of that announcement, however, is a bit of bad news. Super Smash Bros Brawl has been delayed in Japan, pushing the game’s release back to January. No word on whether this delay will affect any other region’s release of SSBB, but it seems likely.
