Sony Announces Changes to PlayStation Vue Service

Sony Announces Changes to PlayStation Vue Service

Sony has announced changes to its PlayStation Vue service. It has addressed price changes to the various subscription options and the availability of the service across multiple platforms.

As of now, Vue’s “Core” and “Elite” packages are dropping by 5 dollars a month, bringing them to $55.00 and $65.00 USD, respectively. The “Access” subscription plan, however, will remain unchanged and sells for $50.00 a month. These changes will be reflected for existing subscribers during their next billing cycle but will affect new subscribers immediately. Microsoft’s similar service, Sling TV, currently only goes for $20.00 a month, but lacks the availability of PlayStation Vue. The discrepancy in availability is set to widen further in upcoming months.

PlayStation Vue is now available on Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV stick, with plans to add support for Google’s Chromecast. PlayStation is hoping that these changes will allow Sony to reach a brand new category of people; those who don’t own a game console.
