Sony Details Starhawk Split-Screen Multplayer

None

With the advent of Internet gaming, local multiplayer has been put on the backburner for most games out there. It’s not uncommon to see a game’s local multiplayer be fairly barebones when you compare it to the online suite. However, Harvard Bonin of SCEA has recently made a post on the official U.S. PlayStation Blog that said this won’t be the case for upcoming tactical shooter Starhawk.

Not only will the game feature split-screen play, complete with huge radar map for both contestants, it will also allow dual-PSN login. That way, if you go to your friend’s house and play, you’ll take all your hard-earned XP home with you. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to take your Trophies home.

This is a pretty interesting innovation in couch co-op gaming that we haven’t seen a whole lot of before, though both Twisted Metal and Uncharted 3 have used their own versions of dual-PSN login.
