Street Fighter V Exploit Lets You Use Characters’ Past Versions

Street Fighter V Exploit Lets You Use Characters’ Past Versions

There’s a fighting game exploit afoot! But don’t worry. This one isn’t going to mean you’ll see cheaters earning instant wins. No, this Street Fighter V exploit is far more subtle. It just lets you access earlier versions of the game.

Here’s how it works. You’ll need Alex in your roster to pull the Street Fighter V exploit off. You set the game so Alex is set as the favorite. Doing so lets you use the 1.01 versions of every member of the cast.

It works right now since Alex only has a 000 folder right now for data, while the characters around since 1.01 have 000 and 001 folders. When the cursor starts on Alex during character selection, it automatically clicks into the older data for the other characters, instead of going to their 001 folders.

This exploit doesn’t do too much at the moment, since Street Fighter V is only on version 1.02 now. There haven’t been any balance changes yet. But it could provide hope for future opportunities to roll back to earlier versions of characters.
