TGS 2011: Final Fantasy X Gets HD Remake

TGS 2011: Final Fantasy X Gets HD Remake

None

Wow, when Square Enix said they may never make a Final Fantasy XV, they weren’t kidding. Their latest project? An HD remake of Final Fantasy X. It’s certainly not the HD remake I would have chosen (Final Fantasy VI ), but I suppose they could have done worse (Final Fantasy VIII). It has been ten years since Final Fantasy X was released on the PS2, and this new remake is intended to celebrate the game’s ten-year anniversary.

The remake will come out on both the PS3 and PS Vita. No further details about the game have been announced, but personally I hope that the upgrades in the FFX International Version that America never got to see will make it into the game. It would also be nice if they actually matched the lips with the English voiceovers this time around.

At the same press conference, Square Enix announced Lords of Apocalypse, an action RPG for the PS Vita, and Army Corps of Hell, another PS Vita game whose genre has not yet been defined. No further information was available about these titles either.

Either way, it looks like Square Enix is finally getting back into the JRPG business. In a small way, at least.
