Mafia City Cheats & Cheat Codes for Mobile

Mafia City Summary

Mafia City, as its name suggests, is a Mafia-themed city-building and management sim developed by Yotta Games. The title generated significant buzz before its release thanks to a controversial viral marketing campaign, leading many to wonder what type of game Mafia City might be. While the ads for the game included clips of criminal activities that are regular occurrences in the Grand Theft Auto series, Mafia City is a strategy title and primarily a city-building game.

Mafia City was released in 2017 to mixed reviews, with many players claiming that the game did not live up to the expectations set by the pre-release ads for the title. Several others have taken to the iTunes and Google Play storefronts to leave reviews for the title claiming that the game is unbalanced or too easy to break. Currently, the game holds a respectable 4.4 out of 5 stars on Google Play and 4.3 out of 5 stars on the Apple Store. Since the game’s initial release, Yotta Games has implemented several updates and patches to smooth out and rebalance the experience.

Despite receiving praise for its visuals and use of the Mafioso theme, many take issue with the title’s monetization. The early-to-mid game is mostly a balanced free-to-play experience that doesn’t require spending real-world currency to progress, but this changes as players reach the late game. Many report that the late and endgame present players with a very obvious paywall. The game does feature a competitive ranked mode, which almost assuredly requires spending real-world currency.

Mafia City Premise

Mafia City for mobile devices

Similar to other mobile titles like Clan Wars, Mafia City is a 2D city-building and management sim. The player assumes the role of a mob boss looking to expand their empire. The game begins with the boss controlling only a single dwelling, with the need to expand via other buildings to grow their empire. As players grow their criminal empire, they must dispatch their subordinates to unclaimed territory. Successful extortion and forcing out of opponents lets the player acquire new buildings.

To acquire new territory, players engage in battles reminiscent of real-time strategy titles. The player will select unit types from any number of criminal stereotypes. Dispatching these units results in RTS-style battles that take place in an automated fashion. When players are successful, they acquire new buildings. Expanding territory and acquiring more real estate upgrades the player’s base. An upgraded base, in turn, results in better perks for the street-level thugs the mob boss employs.

In addition to subordinates responsible for acquiring new territory, players have secretaries that serve various functions. As players become more and more powerful, they can use their money to better arm their subordinates, and purchase nicer furnishings and cars for their main dwelling. The in-game progression loop incentivizes players to log in daily and complete missions, and each bit of in-game progression feeds into one of the game’s many systems.

Mafia City Main Characters

Mafia City Cheats

As a free-to-play game, Mafia City is reliant on fans’ spending of real-world currency and in-game monetization. Thanks to the game’s implementation of paywalls to block progress, there are no official in-game “cheats” players can use to exploit the game. These kinds of cheats would ultimately amount to theft, but there are codes that players can use. Yotta Games regularly posts codes that are redeemed in-game for free items. These codes have a limited time in which they are active, but players can discover new ones easily. To keep up with the most recent codes for Mafia City, simply follow the official Twitter and Facebook pages for the game. Yotta Games will regularly post codes to these social media platforms.
