The Simpsons: Tapped Out begins with Homer causing a meltdown.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out Cheats & Cheat Codes

As the longest–running sitcom, animated show, and scripted prime-time television series in the world, The Simpsons has unquestionably made a mark on popular culture. The beloved animated family has produced countless iconic episodes and irrevocably altered the course of American comedy. A media franchise this influential inevitably leads to plenty of spinoffs, and The Simpsons is no exception. The Simpsons: Tapped Out is a mobile game, launched in 2012 and managed by EA Mobile. Despite its advanced age, the title still receives support from EA, and updates launch regularly for the title.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out Premise

The plot of The Simpsons: Tapped Out begins with a satirical take on the addictiveness of mobile games. Homer is distracted by his mobile device and accidentally causes a nuclear meltdown at his job, leading to the destruction of Springfield. With the help of his daughter Lisa, Homer must rebuild the town and induce the evacuated inhabitants to return. Tapped Out is a city-builder game. Players use both cash and Donuts, a premium currency, to create and upgrade new buildings and characters to generate income. You can also build decorations and pursue quests to level up and unlock new structures to build.

There’s a wide variety of buildings and residents to acquire and place in Springfield.

The titular family of The Simpsons comprises some of the most immediately recognizable characters out there. This legendary family appears in Tapped Out as well, portrayed by the iconic voice actors that still bring them to life in the show. The Simpsons: Tapped Out draws from the entire rich history of the Simpsons franchise, and you can essentially recruit the entire population of Springfield throughout the game. While a full list of the characters in Tapped Out is too long to replicate here, what follows are the most prominent Springfield citizens you can expect to see in-game.

  • Homer Simpson: The main character of The Simpsons is a man who needs no introduction. Homer is an iconic goofball whose careless actions lead to the destruction of Springfield at the beginning of Tapped Out. With your help, he strives to rebuild the town.
  • Lisa Simpson: Lisa’s well-known wit and high intelligence are prominent in The Simpsons: Tapped Out. She helps her simpleminded father rebuild the town, and serves as a sort of narrator and tutorial guide.
  • Bart Simpson: Homer’s mischievous son is another recruitable character in Tapped Out. While he’s a famously chaotic character, he still pitches in to help rebuild Springfield.
  • Marge Simpson: Homer’s wife, a known busybody, is instrumental in helping to repair Springfield.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out Titles in the Series

The Simpsons: Tapped Out is technically a standalone game, but it is of course part of the greater Simpsons franchise, which has spread to incorporate a feature-length film, countless pieces of merchandise, and even a themed land and ride at Universal Studios. Throughout the show’s meteoric rise to the top, several other Simpsons games have been released. The Simpsons: Hit & Run is arguably the most famous. This Grand Theft Auto-inspired action-adventure game let players explore Springfield as a variety of characters in many iconic vehicles from the show. But Hit & Run is far from the only game under the franchise’s belt. Here’s the full list.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out Cheat Codes

Tapped Out regularly adds new content, like the Springfield Squidport.

Unfortunately, like so many other mobile games, The Simpsons: Tapped Out does not support official cheat codes. Since it does feature in-app purchases for the premium Donut currency, cheat codes to gain more resources would seriously impact the economy of the game. If you want a faster, smoother, and generally easier time with the game, you must shell out real money.

That being said, there are a few tips and tricks to help you get started. One cheat-like exploit will even give you some free Donuts. All you have to do to execute this trick is tap on Homer ten times. Doing so will net you ten donuts and a free statue of Jebediah Springfield. While this is a huge boon in the early game, it’s unfortunately not repeatable. You can only get free donuts from Homer once. If you want more free donuts, you can seek online generators that will automatically add them to your account. These generators are less than reliable, however, and you should exercise extreme caution while using them.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out FAQ

What is the maximum amount of money in The Simpsons: Tapped Out? With careful spending and judicious use of real-world cash, you can accumulate quite a nest egg. However, there is a limit to how much money you can stockpile. The maximum amount of cash tops out at 4,294,967,295. This is the highest value that can be represented by a 32-bit unsigned integer, a common way to store and track numbers. Tapped Out clearly uses this method, as any money you earn past this amount will be wasted.

How many levels are there in The Simpsons: Tapped Out? When the game first launched, there were only 20 levels for fans to achieve. Regular content updates have stretched the game far beyond this limit, however. Currently, the maximum level in The Simpsons: Tapped Out is 939, which is famously the area code of the Simpsons’ residence in the TV show.

What happens when you nuke your town in The Simpsons: Tapped Out? Nuking the town of Springfield sounds like a drastic course of action that’s sure to end in disaster, especially given how similar it is to the inciting incident of the game. Fortunately, nuking Springfield isn’t the end of the world. It simply removes and stores all of your unlocked buildings, allowing you to place them wherever else you might want and fully redecorate the town. That being said, if you’ve built out Springfield a lot, it’ll be a considerable effort to put everything back the way it was. There have also been a few reports that nuking the town has led to some buildings getting locked, so proceed carefully.
