The Best Games to Grab During the Fanatical Level Up Sale
There are plenty of Steam key resellers out there, but finding one that's trustworthy, reliable, and ethical in its practices can be easier said than done. Thankfully, some do exist, with Fanatical being one of the more wallet-friendly ones out there, even in comparison to retailers like Humble or Green Man Gaming. Last week saw Fanatical kick off its Level Up Sale, which just so happens to be host to hundreds of excellent deals on great Steam games, some of them even beating out the historic lows from the official Steam Store. With the Level Up Sale running for just one more week, we felt it would be appropriate to comb through the available deals and highlight a few standouts that are absolutely worth picking up before it ends.
Suikoden I & II HD Remaster
- Release Date — March 6, 2025
- Developer — Konami
- Publisher — Konami
- Genre — JRPG
- Steam User Score — 95% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $27.24 (Normally $49.99, 46% off)
First up is the 2025 HD remaster of Suikoden and Suikoden II, which is down to just $27 on Fanatical compared to its normal $50 MSRP. This is hands-down the lowest price we've seen yet on this excellent remaster collection, which brings together two of the greatest JRPGs ever made and gives them some 21st-century visual polish (and a few quality of life additions). Both of the first two Suikoden games are indisputable classics that belong in any JRPG fan's library, and it's especially great to see them available on PC for the first time in these faithful, definitive versions.
Sniper Elite Resistance
- Release Date — January 30, 2025
- Developer — Rebellion
- Publisher — Rebellion
- Genre — Action, Stealth
- Steam User Score — 75% (Mostly Positive)
- Price — $23.49 (Normally $49.99, 53% off)
They may not be the most complex or groundbreaking games out there, but Rebellion's Sniper Elite titles are sure as heck a good time if you're in the mood for some stealth action gameplay in semi-open World War II-era sandboxes. The latest game in the series, Sniper Elite Resistance, takes place as a concurrent side story to the events of Sniper Elite 5 and lets players run loose in Germany-occupied parts of Europe at the height of the conflict. And, of course, as you'd expect, the X-Ray kill cam that the series is famous for returns in all of its bloody glory, letting you get up close and personal with the damage you're doling out to enemies. It might not be as strong a recommendation at full price, but at just $23, Sniper Elite Resistance is a no-brainer.
Code Vein
- Release Date — September 26, 2019
- Developer — Bandai Namco Studios
- Publisher — Bandai Namco
- Genre — Action RPG, Soulslike
- Steam User Score — 86% (Very Positive)
- Price — $5.39 (Normally $59.99, 91% off)
With Code Vein II coming out earlier this year, there's never been a better time to go back and revisit the first game in the fledgling Soulslike series. Even better, then, that you can currently grab the original Code Vein for just $5 during Fanatical's Level Up Sale, which is the lowest we've ever seen it — a full $0.60 cheaper than its historical low on Steam. Code Vein does some cool things within the Soulslike genre when it comes to buildcraft and character customization, including the ability to swap out builds at-will using the Blood Code system and a persistent AI partner (which you can turn off for extra challenge). You might not play it more than once, but a single trip through Code Vein is worth way more than $5.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader
- Release Date — December 7, 2023
- Developer — Owlcat Games
- Publisher — Owlcat Games
- Genre — CRPG, TRPG
- Steam User Score — 86% (Very Positive)
- Price — $19.99 (Normally $49.99, 60% off)
Let's go ahead and get one thing straight: Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is one of the best CRPGs of the last two decades, even when stacked up against competitors like Baldur's Gate 3. While it doesn't have the same level of polish and production values as Larian Studios' 2023 Game of the Year winner, Rogue Trader definitely has it where it counts in terms of role-playing depth, strategic combat, and an excellent, grimdark story set in the Warhammer universe. The DLC campaigns for Rogue Trader are also absolutely essential and integrated organically into the main story, and you can grab the base game and Void Shadows for about $28 total right now on Fanatical.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
- Release Date — August 29, 2025
- Developer — Lizardcube, Sega
- Publisher — Sega
- Genre — Action-Platformer, Metroidvania
- Steam User Score — 91% (Very Positive)
- Price — $16.34 (Normally $29.99, 46% off)
One of my personal favorites from last year, Streets of Rage 4 developer Lizardcube's Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is down to its lowest-ever price on Fanatical right now courtesy of the Level Up Sale, coming in at just $16 compared to its normal $30 MSRP. Notably, Shinobi is a lot more than just another action-platformer like previous games in the series, dabbling in elements like backtracking, branching paths, hidden secrets, and ability gating enough to be considered an "Accidental Metroidvania". Both the platforming and combat are superb, with the former being fast and fluid and the latter being chunky, mechanically deep, and combo-driven, similar to Streets of Rage 4's encounter design.
Menace
- Release Date — February 5, 2026
- Developer — Overhype Studios
- Publisher — Hooded Horse
- Genre — Turn-Based Tactics, Turn-Based Strategy
- Steam User Score — 91% (Very Positive)
- Price — $29.99 (Normally $39.99, 25% off)
Overhype Studios' Menace is one of the more surprising inclusions in the Level Up Sale, getting a nice 25% off discount less than 3 months after its release back in February. Menace is technically still in Early Access, but Overhype Studios has already made good on plenty of feedback from the community, pointing to the game having a long tail of success as it continues development and works toward its eventual 1.0 release. In terms of gameplay, Menace is an excellent hybrid of turn-based tactics and turn-based strategy, where utilizing vehicles, air support, and understanding how to outflank your enemy in large-scale maps is paramount to success.
Planet of Lana II
- Release Date — March 5, 2026
- Developer — Wishfully
- Publisher — Thunderful Publishing
- Genre — Adventure, Platformer, Cinematic Platformer
- Steam User Score — 91% (Very Positive)
- Price — $12.79 (Normally $19.99, 36% off)
The recently released Planet of Lana II just had a nice deal over on Steam this past weekend, but the current discount it has on Fanatical beats it by a few dollars. This excellent cinematic platformer does a great job at building on the precision platforming and occasionally tense stealth sequences of the original, and it's currently a whopping 36% off as part of the Level Up Sale, the lowest price it's been since launch. If you enjoyed the first Planet of Lana, picking up the sequel is an easy choice to make, and if you've yet to dive into the series and have a fondness for cinematic platformers with great stories and atmosphere, what are you waiting for?
Monster Hunter Stories Collection
- Release Date — June 13, 2024
- Developer — Capcom
- Publisher — Capcom
- Genre — RPG
- Steam User Score — 90% (Very Positive)
- Price — $16.49 (Normally $59.99, 73% off)
Yes, Monster Hunter Stories 3 just came out (and is excellent, and is also on sale over on Fanatical), but if you've yet to break into the series, it's absolutely worth going back and starting from the beginning with the Monster Hunter Stories Collection. This compilation brings together the first Monster Hunter Stories (originally a 3DS exclusive) and Monster Hunter Stories 2, and is currently down to its lowest-ever price: just $17 for two excellent creature-collecting JRPGs set in the Monster Hunter universe. If you enjoy the Pokémon games, Monster Hunter Stories scratches a similar itch, except its inclusion of the classic Monster Hunter gameplay loop of collecting monster parts and using them to craft gear makes it potentially even more addictive.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance
- Release Date — June 13, 2024
- Developer — Atlus
- Publisher — Sega
- Genre — JRPG
- Steam User Score — 95% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $19.19 (Normally $59.99, 68% off)
Speaking of phenomenal RPGs, plenty of great Atlus games are on sale over on Fanatical right now as part of the Level Up Sale. And while we could easily recommend any of the Persona titles included or the excellent Metaphor: ReFantazio, we're instead highlighting a game that's just as good but potentially overlooked in comparison: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. SMT V was originally a Switch-exclusive release, which limited its saturation among RPG fans, but the Vengeance re-release is both a port of the game to PC and other consoles and a definitive re-release of one of the best RPGs of the last few years. Vengeance has a strong claim to being the best Shin Megami Tensei game, period, so definitely grab it while it's 68% off.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Premium Edition
- Release Date — December 8, 2024
- Developer — MachineGames
- Publisher — Bethesda Softworks
- Genre — Action-Adventure, Stealth
- Steam User Score — 90% (Very Positive)
- Price — $62.49 (Normally $99.99, 38% off)
It does tend to peak early on and then repeat a similar formula throughout the rest of the experience, but when that formula is as great as the first 5-ish hours of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are, you can hardly blame MachineGames for capitalizing on that success. You can currently grab the Premium Edition of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for less than the price of the standard edition at just $62, which includes both the base game and the Order of Giants DLC. And while Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an awesome first-person action-adventure game in the same vein as something like Uncharted, it's also got a surprising amount of immersive sim DNA, showing flashes of inspiration from the likes of Dishonored or Deus Ex in how it allows players to choose their own path to victory.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Royal Edition
- Release Date — February 4, 2025
- Developer — Warhorse Studios
- Publisher — Deep Silver
- Genre — RPG
- Steam User Score — 92% (Very Positive)
- Price — $37.59 (Normally $79.99, 53% off)
2025 was a banner year for the RPG genre, showcased by how many incredible games arrived for it in just the first few months. One that was crowned as a surefire Game of the Year contender early on (prior to Clair Obscur taking the world by storm) was the incredibly ambitious Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, which essentially took all the great ideas of its predecessor and executed them better in every conceivable way. As far as immersive open-world RPGs go, you'd be hard-pressed to find one better than Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and the Royal Edition, which includes all of the post-launch DLC, is back down to a previous low of just $37. That's an incredible "dollar-per-gameplay-hour" value.
Silent Hill f
- Release Date — September 25, 2025
- Developer — NeoBards Entertainment
- Publisher — Konami
- Genre — Survival Horror
- Steam User Score — 81% (Very Positive)
- Price — $27.29 (Normally $69.99, 61% off)
The Silent Hill franchise feels like it's back in its prime right alongside Resident Evil, as evidenced by 2024's incredible Silent Hill 2 remake and last year's excellent Silent Hill f. Silent Hill f is an interesting outlier in the franchise, not just for its 1960s Japan setting, but for its hard-hitting combat and encounter design that incorporates parries, charged attacks, and other mechanics we haven't really seen the series emphasize. It's the cheapest it's ever been over on Fanatical right now at just $27, making now a great time to pick it up if you haven't yet. As a bonus, the Silent Hill 2 remake has the same discount right now, so you could potentially get both for the price of one.
Pragmata Digital Deluxe Edition
- Release Date — April 17, 2026
- Developer — Capcom
- Publisher — Capcom
- Genre — Action, Shooter
- Steam User Score — 97% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
- Price — $57.37 (Normally $69.99, 18% off)
The recent release of Pragmata sees the game getting a nice launch-week discount over on Fanatical, with the Deluxe Edition of the game down to just $57 instead of $70. Sadly, the standard edition of Pragmata (which was marked down to just $49 instead of $60) has already sold out, so players may want to act fast if they're looking to get a chunky discount on this excellent Capcom shooter. The hacking and shooting combat in Pragmata is both incredibly unique and an absolute blast to experience once you get the hang of it, and its story and characters are some of the most heartfelt we've seen this year.
Doom: The Dark Ages
- Release Date — May 14, 2025
- Developer — id Software
- Publisher — Bethesda Softworks
- Genre — FPS
- Steam User Score — 85% (Very Positive)
- Price — $20.64 (Normally $69.99, 71% off)
The third game in the DOOM reboot trilogy is back down to its previous historic low price over on Fanatical, with the Steam key reseller once again knocking down The Dark Ages a whopping 70% to just $20. While The Dark Ages is technically the weakest of the three modern DOOM games, it's still one of the more fun FPS titles out there if you're looking for an excellent single-player campaign focused on cool abilities, flashy action, and non-stop, push-forward combat. You could certainly do a lot worse for $20 or less. Even better, the entire trilogy is on sale right now, so you could grab DOOM, Doom Eternal, and Doom: The Dark Ages for a hellishly good price.
Dragon's Dogma II
- Release Date — March 21, 2024
- Developer — Capcom
- Publisher — Capcom
- Genre — Action RPG
- Steam User Score — 70% (Mostly Positive)
- Price — $24.49 (Normally $69.99, 65% off)
The recent rumblings of a possible DLC launch for Dragon's Dogma II have players flocking back to its immersive open world in droves, and that's without Capcom ever giving the game's PC version the support it so dearly needs. Technical issues and performance concerns aside, Dragon's Dogma II is easily one of the best action RPGs of the last several years and a truly unique experience without many peers. The feeling of putting together your ideal party of Pawns and setting out on a grand adventure across a wild and unpredictable open-world sandbox never gets old, whether it's hour 1 or 100, and the current $25 asking price is a huge win for players who haven't grabbed this modern cult classic yet — especially if those rumors of a Dark Arisen-style DLC prove to be true.
