The "Screaming Deals" sale over on the Nintendo eShop may have just concluded last Friday, but there's already another incredible slate of deals on Switch and Switch 2 games ready to take its place. Along with a special publisher showcase on Capcom titles, the Nintendo eShop currently has hundreds of Switch games on sale, many of which are down to their lowest ever prices or returning to previous historical lows. But along with the deals on Switch games are a handful of new discounts on Switch 2 titles, which is encouraging to see so soon after the console's launch. Nintendo just revealed sales figures for the Switch 2, and it's outpacing the original Switch, the PS4, and the PS5, so deals like the ones you can currently grab are likely just a sign of more to come.
Sworn
- Release Date — September 23, 2025
- Developer — Windwalk Games
- Publisher — Team17
- Genre — Action Roguelike
- Review Aggregate Score — 78% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $19.99 (Normally $24.99, 20% off)
Like Hades, but want something with a little bit different setting? Look no further than Sworn. Sworn only just launched into 1.0 this year after enjoying a pretty positive response to its Early Access launch in February, and it scratches the Hades itch better than most games that use it as a gameplay template. Unfortunately, Sworn had the unenviable position of launching into 1.0 on the same day as Hades II's 1.0 launch, which undoubtedly led to it being overshadowed. I'd highly recommend picking it up while it's on a nice 20% discount, especially if you're a fan of action roguelikes and are looking for something with similar production values and meaningful progression as Hades and Hades II.
Alisa Developer's Cut
- Release Date — February 6, 2024
- Developer — Casper Croes
- Publisher — Top Hat Studios
- Genre — Survival Horror
- Review Aggregate Score — 83% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $12.59 (Normally $17.99, 30% off)
Solo developer Casper Croes' Alisa is one of the cult classics of the survival horror genre for good reason, and the Switch Developer's Cut version of the title is maybe the best way to experience its terrifying descent into madness. Imagine if Resident Evil's PS1 trilogy crossed over with a David Lynch film and Alice in Wonderland, and you're close to what Alisa brings to the table. This is classic survival horror through and through, and it's one of the few games that's effective at getting under the skin if you think you've seen all the genre has to offer. If you're a fan of other modern PS1-style survival horror games like Signalis or Crow Country, please do yourself a favor and grab Alisa while it's less than $13.
Rogue Flight
- Release Date — October 24, 2024
- Developer — Truant Pixel
- Publisher — Perp Games
- Genre — On-Rails Shooter, Roguelike
- Review Aggregate Score — 82% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $5.99 (Normally $19.99, 70% off)
It seems almost criminal that Nintendo never gave us a dedicated Star Fox game on the Switch, but that hasn't stopped other developers from stepping in and offering up their own take on a classic, on-rails shooter. One of the best to do it is Rogue Flight, which mixes classic on-rails flight combat a la Star Fox 64 with an anime-inspired aesthetic and roguelike structure. Rogue Flight is pure adrenaline in its combat segments, switching from taking down enemies with conventional weapons one minute, only to do a mid-flight 180 and slice them in half with the flames of your afterburner like a giant sword the next. The Switch version of Rogue Flight is every bit as great as the PC one, and it's only $6 right now.
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny
- Release Date — May 22, 2025
- Developer — Capcom
- Publisher — Capcom
- Genre — Survival Horror
- Review Aggregate Score — 81% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $23.99 (Normally $29.99, 20% off)
Of all the Capcom games currently on sale, one of the newest and most exciting is Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, the remaster of the 2002 PS2 classic of the same name. The Onimusha series delivers a fantastic twist on the classic Resident Evil formula, adhering to the gameplay conventions of the PS1 trilogy before the series pivoted (and influenced action games forever) with its now-infamous fourth entry. There's a strong argument to be made that Onimusha 2 is the best game in the short-lived (and soon-to-be revived) series, and the remaster does a great job of exemplifying how great its combat, story, and bonding system have always been. Onimusha 2 isn't sporting a huge discount at just 20% off, but it's definitely worth grabbing while it's below MSRP.
Vampire Survivors
- Release Date — August 17, 2023
- Developer — Poncle
- Publisher — Poncle
- Genre — Action Roguelike, Bullet Hell
- Review Aggregate Score — 88% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $3.74 (Normally $4.99, 25% off)
Vampire Survivors' status as a viral indie hit is well-deserved, as it's one of the most addictive and rewarding games that money can buy. All the better, then, that it's only $5 to begin with. The Switch was practically made for a game like Vampire Survivors, and it's once again on sale on the Nintendo eShop, down to just $3.74 from its normal $5 asking price as part of the current slate of eShop deals. But that's not all. In addition to being able to grab the base game for 25% off, all of Vampire Survivors' excellent (and, arguably, essential) DLC drops are also 25% off right now, freeing you up to grab the entire Vampire Survivors legacy for roughly $10. Not a bad price to play for potentially thousands of hours of high-quality action roguelike gameplay.
Another Crab's Treasure
- Release Date — April 25, 2024
- Developer — Aggro Crab
- Publisher — Aggro Crab
- Genre — Action RPG, Soulslike
- Review Aggregate Score — 65% (Mixed or Average)
- Price — $17.99 (Normally $29.99, 40% off)
There are plenty of great Soulslikes out there, but Another Crab's Treasure is one that came out of left field to instantly be a front-runner in the growing genre. It's charming and funny, but its boss fights and combat are finely-tuned and absolutely no joke. Combine its deadly serious encounter design with a story that hits some profound notes about environmental conservation, and you have an indie Soulslike that's punching well above its weight. The Switch version of Another Crab's Treasure has improved greatly since its initial launch, with developer Aggro Crab putting in plenty of work to make it run better on the platform. If you've yet to play this excellent and underrated gem, it's definitely worth its current $18 asking price on the Nintendo eShop.
Voidwrought
- Release Date — October 24, 2024
- Developer — Powersnake
- Publisher — Kwalee
- Genre — Metroidvania
- Review Aggregate Score — 76% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $6.79 (Normally $19.99, 66% off)
Sure, games like Hollow Knight, Blasphemous, and both Ori titles undoubtedly set a high bar for the future of indie Metroidvania games. But sometimes, all you want is a game with a large map, plenty of items to pick up, and some fun combat. Voidwrought scratches that itch, delivering a modern Metroidvania experience that ticks all the right boxes, even if it doesn't do anything particularly special or unique. Some players have complained that Voidwrought is too easy, but there's a counterargument that the noticeable power curve contributes to its enjoyment. If you've been on the fence about picking up Voidwrought until now, you've got a perfect excuse to dive in and have a few hours of fun while it's less than $7.
Moonlighter: Complete Edition
- Release Date — November 5, 2018
- Developer — Digital Sun
- Publisher — 11 bit studios
- Genre — Action-Adventure, Simulation, Roguelike
- Review Aggregate Score — 83% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $4.34 (Normally $28.99, 85% off)
Interestingly enough, Moonlighter just had a comparable sale on Steam ahead of the sequel's launch later this month, but that discount was just on the base game. Switch owners can currently grab the Complete Edition of Moonlighter (which includes all the post-launch DLC) for just $4, which is an absolute steal for such a classic action roguelike. If you haven't played Moonlighter yet, imagine an action roguelike where you venture into procedurally generated dungeons and kill monsters for loot with some very Zelda-like combat. Once you return to town, you get to sell all that loot in a shop simulator, which is arguably just as (if not more) fun than the dungeon-crawling sections. Just talking about it has me wanting to spend another 50 hours in Moonlighter's world.
Sid Meier's Civilization VI
- Release Date — November 16, 2018
- Developer — Firaxis Games
- Publisher — 2K, Aspyr Media
- Genre — 4X, Strategy
- Review Aggregate Score — 86% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $5.99 (Normally $29.99, 80% off)
Against all odds, the Switch version of Civilization VI is about as good as the original PC version, which set the stage for it to quickly become one of the must-have titles on the platform for fans of 4X strategy. There aren't too many strategy games on the Switch, but having Civilization VI be represented in such a great version is a huge bonus that makes that genre gap less noticeable. 2K regularly puts Civilization VI on sale, and the Switch 2 version of Civilization VII also happens to be on sale right now. But if you have to choose between the two, I'd argue that Civilization VI is the better game (at least for now) and is a good deal cheaper than its sequel. Spending just $6 to grab one of the greatest turn-based strategy games of all time is a no-brainer.
Resident Evil
- Release Date — May 21, 2019
- Developer — Capcom
- Publisher — Capcom
- Genre — Survival Horror
- Review Aggregate Score — 80% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $9.99 (Normally $19.99, 50% off)
The entire Resident Evil franchise is on sale on the eShop right now, thanks to the Capcom publisher showcase, but the one title in the series that stands out above the rest is the HD remaster of the original Resident Evil's 2002 remake. Not because it's the very best of the RE remakes (that honor belongs to Resident Evil 2), but because it's the only title in the franchise that's down to a new historical low price after previously being marked down to $14.99 in previous sales. Resident Evil was one of the must-have titles on the GameCube, too, so it just feels right to have it in your Switch or Switch 2 library.
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged
- Release Date — October 19, 2023
- Developer — Milestone
- Publisher — Milestone
- Genre — Driving/Racing
- Review Aggregate Score — 75% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $7.49 (Normally $49.99, 85% off)
You might not think it at first glance, but both of the Hot Wheels Unleashed games are some of the best arcade racers this side of Mario Kart. The first Hot Wheels Unleashed was a huge surprise that featured not just some incredible tracks and cars to choose from, but an entire mini-game built around customizing a virtual basement where all those tracks existed (a clever play on the fact that players were effectively racing with real-world toy cars). Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does refine it, delivering more of what made the first game so great while looking and running better in its Switch version. Getting Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 for just $7 is one of the best deals on the eShop right now.
Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak
- Release Date — March 26, 2021
- Developer — Capcom
- Publisher — Capcom
- Genre — Action RPG
- Review Aggregate Score — 88% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $14.99 (Normally $59.99, 75% off)
While Monster Hunter Rise would eventually get ports to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, it's important to remember that Capcom originally developed it as a Switch exclusive. No surprise, then, that the Switch version of Rise arguably remains the best way to play the title, and it's a perfect game to bring on the go for quick hunting sessions. Between both the base game of Rise and the Sunbreak expansion, players easily have about 3-500 hours worth of content to dive into, and the game still has an incredibly active online community for multiplayer all these years later. Getting that much quality content for just $15 is practically unheard of, making Monster Hunter Rise one of the essential pick-ups during the current eShop sale.
No Man's Sky
- Release Date — June 5, 2025
- Developer — Hello Games
- Publisher — Hello Games
- Genre — Adventure, Survival
- Review Aggregate Score — 93% (Universal Acclaim)
- Price — $23.99 (Normally $59.99, 60% off)
The current sale on the Switch version of No Man's Sky has to be one of the best deals that players can currently grab on the eShop. Not only can you grab this excellent open-world space exploration game for just $24, but that price locks you into the free Switch 2 upgrade, which currently has the highest review aggregate score of any version of the game. When it comes to Switch 2 ports, Hello Games has shown how it can and should be done with the new console's version of No Man's Sky, and the constant deluge of updates and free content drops means you're likely to find reasons to jump in and out of No Man's Sky well into the Switch 2's lifespan over the next few years.
Dead Cells
- Release Date — August 7, 2018
- Developer — Motion Twin, Evil Empire
- Publisher — Motion Twin
- Genre — Action Roguelike, Metroidvania
- Review Aggregate Score — 89% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $12.49 (Normally $24.99, 50% off)
Much like Vampire Survivors, Dead Cells is easily one of the best indie action roguelikes of the last few years and capable of entertaining you for hundreds of hours. Since its launch back in 2018, Dead Cells has only continued to improve with the addition of several post-launch expansions, performance updates and patches, and even a crossover with Castlevania. Through it all, though, the Switch version of Dead Cells has long remained a favorite, especially as one of the platforms where most players became familiar with it long before the arrival of competing hardware like the Steam Deck. Dead Cells has also enjoyed an incredibly long tail in terms of its success, making deals like the current 50% off discount a rarity that new players should take advantage of.
Cronos: The New Dawn
- Release Date — September 5, 2025
- Developer — Bloober Team
- Publisher — Bloober Team
- Genre — Survival Horror
- Review Aggregate Score — 76% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $50.99 (Normally $59.99, 15% off)
Despite having just been released two months ago, Bloober Team's very Dead Space-like game Cronos: The New Dawn is already down a respectable 15% on the Nintendo eShop for its Switch 2 version. Cronos is a fantastic sci-fi-leaning survival horror experience with some great combat and a gripping atmosphere, and its Switch 2 version is easily on par with the game's PS5 and Xbox Series X/S counterparts. There are a handful of Switch 2 games that are on sale on the eShop right now for the first time ever, but Cronos stands out as an easy recommendation to pick up, not just for its excellent survival horror gameplay, but for its commendable visuals and performance on a handheld that, so far, has had mixed results with third-party ports.
