Konami recently announced that the classic Simpsons Arcade Game would be hitting downloadable platforms. The game will arrive on the PlayStation Network next week during its normal Tuesday update, but it will drop for Xbox LIVE Arcade tomorrow. As of now, an official price for the game has not been announced.

This is a total HD remake of the 1991 beat ‘em up, which many claim is the best Simpsons game ever made. All the original levels are there and the game supports four-player drop-in/drop-out co-op.



The game includes three game modes: Quarters, Survival, and Free Play. Free Play obviously lets you play to your heart’s content, while Survival most likely will give you a limited amount of continues. Quarters mode hasn’t been explained yet, but it’s possible that it involves sharing a pool of quarters with a group of gamers. The game also includes several different unlockables including in-game flyers, posters, a Simpsons character guide, and the full Japanese version of the game.
