The Steam Summer Sale Is On

The Steam Summer Sale Is On

None

It’s the event of the season (literally). After weeks of anxious speculation, Steam has finally gone live with their summer special, a deluge of deals the likes of which would make a miserly man cry tears of joy.

There are the usual assortment of daily deals and franchise sales, of course. Big names, like Call of Duty and Portal 2, are charging out the gate for at least half off, while other biggies like Skyrim are sitting pretty at smaller discounts until their day in the sun.

This year, though, things are being done differently on the periphery. There are many, shorter-term deals available, up for only a few hours, as well as a “community choice” box, which allows the people to pick the next game for sale for an eight hour window. Current options are Saints Row: The Third, Batman: Arkham City and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition. Clearly this batch has a thing for colons and subtitles.

The summer sale will run until July 22, at which point everything goes back to full price (well, most things). Get’em while they’re hot!
