1943: The Battle of Midway Cheats & Cheat Codes for Arcade, NES, Xbox, And More

In 1987, Capcom released the arcade vertical shooter 1943: The Battle of Midway. It is a follow-up to Capcom’s game 1942. The game was received well with Japan ranking the game as the most popular arcade game of 1987. However, the game received negative attention as the Japanese right-wing protested its production. Although the arcade release was exclusive to Japan, the arcade version itself was included in the 1998 Capcom Generations for the Sega Saturn and the PlayStation and in the 2005 Capcom Classics Collection for PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

The Premise Of 1943: The Battle Of Midway

The game is set in the Pacific theater of World War II, off the coast of the Midway Atoll with the Imperial Japanese Armed Forces as the main group of antagonists. You take control of an unnamed U.S. Air Force ace pilot who’s seeking revenge on the Japanese air forces. The title has 16 stages and wraps up with an ultimate battle where you destroy the battleship Yamato. Similar to 1942, you pilot a P-38 Lightning. In 2-player mode, when both players overlap their planes on screen, the energy bar can be transferred from the player with more fuel to the player with less.

• 1941: Counter Attack – a vertical scrolling shooter arcade game made by Capcom in 1990, first released for the CPS-1 hardware.
• 1942: Joint Strike – a vertical scrolling shooter video game, set during World War II and developed by Backbone Entertainment.
• 1943: The Battle of Midway – a vertical scrolling shooter arcade game released by Capcom in June 1987.
• 1944: The Loop Master – the fifth game in the 194X series of vertically scrolling shoot-em-up games, and the first one to not be developed by Capcom.

NES

Auto-Fire

For this cheat, you will need the Famicom 4-Player Adaptor. (The Four-Score of the NES system will not work for this!) Press and hold B on Controller 4, then Reset the console. Then hold B on Controller 1 and the ship will always fire.

Super Shot

Press and hold the B Button until you hear a whistle sound. Once you hear this, release the B Button for a very strong shot from your plane.
