The recurring villain, evil wizard Malkil, survived the events of the previous game and escaped to the peaceful city of Piedup. After regaining his strength, Malkil defeated the rightful king of Piedup, Good King James. With the true king imprisoned, Malkil has conquered Piedup. It is now up to the player to free Good King James, save the citizens of Piedup, and defeat Malkil once and for all.

Once again, players take on the role of brave knights of legend, Kurors. The story takes place immediately after the events of Wizards & Warriors X: The Fortress of Fear. Kurors has defeated Malkil at the peak of IceFire Moutain, but the wizard’s spirit has survived.

Kurors is attacked by Malkil’s spirit and loses everything. Without his weapons, armor, memories, or honor, Kurors wanders the wilderness until he finds the city of Piedup. Kurors must disguise himself and sneak through the city, gathering strength and an arsenal of weapons until he’s ready to face Malkil.

This action platformer continued to thrive for years as one of Rare’s iconic action platformers. The Wizards & Warriors series has a total of four different games in the franchise.
