Syberia: The World Before Summary
Syberia: The World Before stands as a noteworthy continuation in the critically-acclaimed graphic adventure game series, Syberia. As with previous entries in the franchise, Microids developed and published The World Before. Revealed to the public in August 2019, the game was in the development phase for a commendable year prior to its announcement. Microids rolled out the game on March 18, 2022, for Windows platforms. Releases for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S rolled out in November of the same year. This particular installment holds a sentimental place in the series. It acts as a memorial to its creator, Benoît Sokal, who tragically passed away during the development phase in 2021.

Syberia: The World Before Premise
Syberia: The World Before whisks players away to two entwined realms, each set in distinct time frames. The narrative unfolds the story of the life of Dana Roze, a rising pianist from the 1930s. This is set against the challenges faced by Kate Walker, a beloved character from preceding Syberia tales, in the early 2000s. Dana’s narrative is set against the backdrop of Osterthal, a fictional Central European domain, during a time marred by the emergence of a fascist regime. Kate’s story brings players to a salt mine located in the fictional Eastern European region. In this dual timeline, players grapple with intricate puzzles, delve into deep character dialogues, and make pivotal choices, shaping the destinies of both protagonists.

Syberia: The World Before FAQs
What is the code for Syberia: The World Before Albert Bauer?
In order to open Albert Bauer’s trunk, look at the engraving on the pendant. The date of his daughter’s birthday – 0408 – will do the trick.
How do you get Dana’s letter in Syberia: The World Before?
The final puzzle in Syberia: The World Before is a doozy. To solve it, first examine the automaton in the room after Ludwig departs. Adjusti its tie and use a specific Voralberg Key configuration to open its chest. Inside, manipulate the heart mechanism with a timed key release. Replace the heart with Oscar, and then, from his perspective, reveal another mechanism. Finally, as Kate, adjust the tracks on the automaton’s back. Guide a knob through the tracks using the Voralberg Key and unlock the mechanism to retrieve Dana’s letter.
