We have a good news/bad news situation for the Titanfall 2 multiplayer beta. Brace yourself, because a lot of people are going to be unhappy. Console owners aren’t going to have any problem when it comes up. They’ll be able to enjoy it without any problem. However, people with PCs are going to be excluded. The Titanfall 2 beta isn’t for them.
The official Titanfall 2 website explains the reason for the preferential treatment. See, running a beta is easier on a console. You put it out and know everyone can try and enjoy it. With PCs, hardware variety and minimum specification optimization are issues. Since Respawn Entertainment isn’t ready for dealing with either of those things yet, the Titanfall 2 beta is skipping PCs. They can go over server scaling with consoles only.
An exact launch date for the Titanfall 2 beta has yet to be announced. However, Respawn’s CEO, Vince Zampella, did some teasing on Twitter . He said to keep the next two weekends free. Perhaps that means August 27-28 and September 3-4?
