Today Packed With Gaming Deals

None

Amazon and Xbox LIVE are offering quite a few deals for the cash conscious gamer today. Amazon’s deal of the day is Brink, the Mirror’s Edge and Team Fortress hybrid, whose price will drop to $19.99 on all platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC). The site will also have several game-related lightning deals going on for the rest of the day, including Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon at 7pm PST.

But that’s not all—Xbox LIVE has a few deals as well, including half off all of Mass Effect 2’s DLC. Earlier this month, Xbox LIVE members had the opportunity to choose which DLC would be this week’s deal. Mass Effect 2 won over Battlefield 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and Assassin’s Creed 2.

Included in Xbox LIVE’s Deal of the Week are:

  • Kasumi – Stolen Memory: From 560 MSP ($7) to 280 MSP ($3.50)

  • Lair of the Shadow Broker: From 800 MSP ($10) to 400 MSP ($5)

  • Mass Effect 2: Arrival: From 560 MSP ($7) to 280 MSP ($3.50)

Lair of the Shadow Broker is one of the best add-ons for Mass Effect 2, though surprisingly, Mass Effect 2’s Overlord DLC remains at $7, or 560 MSP. On top of all this there’s also a sale on DLC for Halo: Reach, Halo 3, Gears of War 2, Fable III, Kinect Sports, Forza Motorsport 3, Alan Wake, and Crackdown 2. Add-ons for all of these games are now half off.

In related news, from August 2nd to August 8th you’ll be able to change your gamertag for 30% off (now 560 MSP). If you’ve ever wanted to remove the random X’s and numbers from your gamertag, August will be the time to do so. I recommend something classy, like Hardcore Pwnography or Belgian Rofl.
