Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron Announced

None

Last year, developer High Moon Studios delivered Transformers: War for Cybertron to the masses. And it was good. I mean, for a licensed property. An enjoyable third-person shooter, War for Cybertron wasn’t bound by the comic or television continuities, nor was it a tie-in for one of Michael Bay’s blockbuster explosion-fests. It was a game, and it featured the Autobots and the Decepticons as they struggled over control of their home planet, the titular Cybertron.

Now those folks are returning to finish that fight with Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. In the wake of their battle, the Autobots and Decepticons leave Cybertron a shell of its former self, a dying world from which they must flee, into the wide auspices of the star-filled universe. Will they end up on Earth, to continue the battle? Probably. Humanity getting caught in the Autobot/Decepticon crossfire—in fact, the very attitude with which each group views us—is a core part of what defines the two groups’ differences.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 next year. We’ll have more substantial details on the game when they become available.
