Trevor Martin Being Sued in Wake of Scandal

Trevor Martin Being Sued in Wake of Scandal

We all knew it was only a matter of time. In recent months there have been a handful of lawsuits filed against multiple betting sites that generate revenue from the demand for high-value CS:GO weapon skins. The whole lotto / betting scandal was busted wide open and pushed center stage when Trevor Martin (TmarTN) and Tom Cassell (ProSyndicate) were exposed for promoting a skin lottery and betting site that they owned, for months, without disclosing their ownership of the site. It’s not a surprise, then, that both of them are now at the center of a new lawsuit .

Their site, CSGO Lotto, and its business partners are being sued for “actively promoting Lotto as a gambling service, including to minors.” The lawsuit, along with several others, is likely to be thrown out according to Bryce Blum, in-house counsel for eSports betting site Unikrn. The suits have been labeled as “shakedowns,” as parents attempt to take advantage of a hot topic and, if nothing else, recover the gambling losses of their children. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out in the following months, as these lawsuits and their resulting settlements will likely be formative in the shaping of the still-natal eSports world.
