Ubisoft CEO believes Wii U could Shine at the “Right Price”

Ubisoft CEO believes Wii U could Shine at the “Right Price”

In speaking with CVG on Tuesday, June 17 at this year’s E3 last week, Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot discussed about the publisher’s line-up for the remainder of 2014 and what kind of challengers it currently faces.

In amongst all that, Guillemot also revealed that he believes that Nintendo’s struggling Wii U could be more successful if it was given the “ right price.

When the conversation turned to what Ubisoft has planned for the Wii U, Guillemot touched on games such as Just Dance and the recently launched Watch_Dogs being released on the console, as well as a game that’s “on the shelf”.

We are coming with Watch Dogs and Just Dance this year. We also have another game on the shelves that we expect to come at some point when there will be more machines, ” Guillemot explained to CVG.

When asked about this game that’s “on the shelf”, Guillemot noted that the game is waiting for more Wii U consoles to be available, which is when he then inferred that if Nintendo were to reprice the console it would do better for both the company and the console itself.

Yes, that game is waiting for more machines to be available. With Mario Kart , Wii U made one step and we expect with Smash Bros. it will also do more. If Nintendo put the right price on the machine then they will probably have a chance to do further.

Back in May, it was reported that Ubisoft were all fully focused ” on the development of Watch_Dogs for the Wii U . In April, it was confirmed that the game will be released on the Wii U this Fall .
