Watch out retailers, gaming publishers are done sticking their toes into digital delivery. Apparently, the water’s fine and they’re getting ready to dive in. Michael Pachter, famed gaming analyst over at Wedbush Morgan, reports that Visceral Games’ The Ripper, a horror title based on 19 th century English serial killer Jack the Ripper, will be made available to gamers via the PSN and Xbox LIVE Marketplace ONLY. While The Ripper is expected to be a title with a far smaller scope than Visceral’s other upcoming game, Dead Space 2, this marks a pretty important next step in download gaming. Combine this news with today’s rumblings that EA will release prequel/beta/extended demo content soon, and it looks like EA is getting ever-closer to cutting out the middleman.
