Xbox 360 and One Boxes Noting Backward Compatibility

Xbox 360 and One Boxes Noting Backward Compatibility

Sometimes, it takes a little thing like packaging redesign to make you remember that a system isn’t quite dead yet. The Xbox 360 is the example today. We know it’s still a viable system, though the Xbox One is the main headliner now. But now, even its games are acknowledging when they work on their big brother. Now box art has appeared in the wild!

The examples at hand were found by Xyrmellon and shared on NeoGAF . Two sorts of Fallout 3 box designs were found at a Walmart. One still had a standard Xbox 360 Platinum Hits design, but had “Plays on Xbox One” above Fallout 3’ s title. The other actually had two banners at the top, one saying Xbox One and Xbox 360, with another below it saying, “Plays on Xbox One & Xbox 360.”

While this probably won’t happen for all games, this is a smart idea for major titles like Fallout 3 . It’s an easy way to see what extra games will work on your system. Especially if someone isn’t as aware of the backward compatibility function as those of us who keep up on gaming news.
