In 1994 Capcom released a soccer game called J.League Excite Stage ’94. When Capcom released the game in other countries they opted to change the name as well. The title is known is Capcom’s Soccer Shootout in North America and Soccer Shootout in Europe. Capcom’s Soccer Shootout was released for the Super Nintendo in June of 1994. The game arrived at mixed reviews among fans and critics. Some scores were as high as 90% while others were as low as 62%.
The Premise Of Capcom’s Soccer Shootout
The gameplay in this game consists of six modes for players. There are Exhibition, Main Game, All-Stars, Indoor Game, P.K., and Training modes respectively. The player has to choose one of the modes on the home screen before choosing one of the 12 national teams included in the game. These teams are fictional but are heavily inspired by real soccer players.
