Sonic Colors: Ultimate Cheats & Cheat Codes for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and More

Sonic Colors: Ultimate Cheats & Cheat Codes for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and More

Sonic Colors: Ultimate Summary

Back in 2008, the development of Sonic Colors began following Sonic Unleashed. Two games were developed: one for the Nintendo Wii by Sonic Team, and one for the Nintendo DS by Dimps. Both teams made an effort to design for a wider demographic than previous games specifically fans of Super Mario. To make Sonic games more desirable, Sega delisted several Sonic Games with bad Metacritic scores to increase the brand’s value. The game was released to generally positive reviews AND was a commercial success. In 2021, Sega decided to remaster the Wii version of Sonic Colors and released Sonic Colors: Ultimate.

Sonic Colors Ultimate was released to mixed reviews with a Metacritic score of 74 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and an even worse score of 67 on Nintendo Switch.

Premise

The title is a platform game that is set in outer space. You control Sonic the Hedgehog and your goal is to save an alien race called the Wisps from Doctor Eggman. Gameplay shifts between side-scrolling and third-person perspectives and upon completion of a level, players are given a grade depending on their performance. The game introduces Wisp power-ups, allowing Sonic a multitude of new abilities to help him progress through the levels. The game also features a co-op two-player mode, Eggman’s Sonic Simulator, in this mode you control Sonic-modelled robots through a series of levels.

Main Characters Of Sonic Colors: Ultimate

While this is a Sonic game through and through, it’s primarily centered around the wisps currently being enslaved by Eggman.

  • White Wisp – The most common type of Wisps, the White Wisps are very friendly and love to talk. They do not have the power to transform, but they can give Sonic a Boost.
  • Cyan Wisp – Cyan Wisps are a special breed. They are swift and never seem to stop moving, and as a result, they can seem a little forgetful. Their powers allow Sonic to utilize the Cyan Laser.
  • Jade Wisp – Keep an eye out for the new Jade Wisp. This mysterious creature grants Sonic the ability to pass through walls easily and levitate like a ghost to reach otherwise impossible areas.
  • Pink Wisp – Pink Wisps can be somewhat harsh, but they are in fact very kind by nature. You’ll often find them near walls. Utilize the powers of the Pink Wisps to transform Sonic into a Pink Spike so he can move around easily in all directions when on a wall.

More Characters

  • Green Wisp – Green Wisps are subtle, yet pretty goofy. You never know when you might come across one since they don’t hang out in one particular spot, but keep an eye out for them when you’re flying. They give Sonic the power to hover.
  • Orange Wisp – Orange Wisps are very sensitive, emotional Wisps. They are easily elated when praised, but they can also get depressed if they’ve made a mistake. Be careful not to upset them, since they can get angry very easily. Luckily, Sonic reaps the benefits of their powerful emotions when they transform him into an Orange Rocket.
  • Blue Wisp – Blue Wisps have sharp minds and are excellent leaders. Whenever they decide to do something big, the Blue Wisps are almost always successful. Their powers allow Sonic to become as indestructible as Blue Cube.
  • Yellow Wisps – Yellow Wisps are very fond of earth and water. Their powers allow Sonic to transform into Yellow Drill to reach underground and underwater spots quickly.
  • Purple Wisps – Once Wisps are captured by Dr. Eggman, they are converted into Purple Wisps. These unfortunate Wisps are violent and forced to carry out Dr. Eggman’s evil plans.
