You Can Play XBO, Wii U, PC Games on PlayStation VR

That didn’t take long, did it? It seems that many PlayStation VR owners have discovered something pretty neat about their new headset: It can hook up to other consoles and display games. That’s right! Since PS VR uses a normal HDMI connection, people got curious and decided to hook it up to their Xbox Ones, Wii Us, and PCs. As it turns out, you can play games on any of these platforms using your new headset.

Don’t expect these games to magically transform into VR experiences, though. You’re basically just engaging PS VR’s cinema mode. You’ll basically be looking at a big floating screen against a black background, and that screen will display those games just like your TV would – except worse. Things won’t look at crisp and “HD” as they do on your fancy TV, so there’s no real reason to play through the headset except for the novelty of it. You’ll also want to know that sound won’t be mapped to the headset, so you’ll need to plug your headphones into the source console in order to hear your game. Useful? No, not very. Neat? Yes, yes it is.
