A definitive edition of Dead Island is headed our way. We didn’t really ask for this, but we’re getting it. While we haven’t heard an official announcement or seen a trailer of any kind, the game has been listed by Best Buy. Dead Island: Definitive Edition is currently listed for PS4 and Xbox One, and will contain, you guessed it, definitive editions of Dead Island as well as Dead Island: Riptide . Two very average games, which will soon look better-than-average.
Probably the most interesting part of this definitive edition is the inclusion of a new, retro-styled side-scrolling runner. Dead Island: Retro Revenge is described as “a brand new stand-alone 16-bit game.” When it’s all said and done, if Retro Revenge is any fun and the game looks great, this could be a pretty sweet deal at $40. You can pre-order the game now, and it’s set to release on May 31.
