You might not know Will Wright by name, but you would probably recognize him by his pseudonym: “Guy Who Invented The Sims and Spore.” Well, Wright is finally starting to reveal a few details about his latest project, but it’s still a bit hard to nail down. “It blurs entertainment, lifestyle, and personal tools. With that data, the world and the opportunities for entertainment within it become more visible to you.” he told VentureBeat. “If we can learn enough about the player, we can create games about their real life. How do we get you more engaged in reality rather than distract you from it?”
Obviously, I’m willing to reserve judgment on Wright’s game until the whole thing is revealed (after all, his projects don’t typically play by the rules), but most gamers use video games as a way to take a break from reality. And, personally, any game that might be “created about my real life” could only be disappointing. Plus, I already have to play that game every day. By Josh Engen |
