Tohru Adachi, the new DLC character for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax , is coming to consoles completely free… for a limited time. During the game’s launch week Adachi will be one hundred percent free to download. However, after launch week, he will require a purchase.
This is a pretty good policy actually, and one we haven’t seen outside of Skullgirls and their crowdfunded DLC characters. It rewards people who adopt the game early, which will spur day 1 sales. In addition, it makes people a little less salty about having to pay to 100% flesh out the game’s roster. We would like to see other fighting games adopt this policy in the future.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is due to launch on the Xbox 360 and PS3 this fall.
