Or, perhaps, salt the earth. A-10 Tank Killer is a flight sim game, based upon the Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt. First released in December 1989 on the PC, or DOS (Disk Operating System). This game saw the players take control of an A-10, and participate in the Gulf War, as well as a fictional European scenario. Upon release, it, along with its sequel, had a combined sales number of over 250k. Keep in mind, this was well before computer games had taken off, and the advertisements weren’t as robust as they are now.

A-10 Tank Killer Premise

There’s no plot in the sense of a connected storyline. However, there are missions to undertake, and it does take place during the Gulf War. That being said, most of the missions consist of being assigned an objective. Then flying to said objective and blowing it up. You select your loadout for the mission, and off you go. The missions are connected, in the sense that if you perform badly in one, another mission will be much more difficult.
