Ancho-V Games, Splatoon’s Final Map, Out Tomorrow

Ancho-V Games, Splatoon’s Final Map, Out Tomorrow

You know who was really cool when I was in high school? Switchfoot. Are they still a band? Anyway, one of their best cruising songs was called “Gone,” and it’s coming to mind about now. “Gone, like Frank Sinatra; like Elvis and his mom; like Al Pacino’s cash, nothing lasts in this life.” It’s so true, Switchfoot. All good things come to an end, and tomorrow, Nintendo will wrap up its content additions for Splatoon with its tenth and final stage: Ancho-V Games.

The stage is designed as a kind of faux indie game studio, complete with art boards, desks, and fans that for some reason raise platforms whenever you shoot ink into them. While I may not want to work for Ancho-V, I certainly am excited to play there. When Splatoon launched back in May, it shipped with five stages. Come tomorrow, the game will be complete with ten stages, over 70 weapons, and countless pieces of gear. It’s good to be a squid; it’s good to be a kid. Long live Splatoon.
